What is our VMware Licensing Health Check?

Our free licensing health check is designed to help you get the most from your IT investments by evaluating your existing VMware licence entitlement and agreements and matching them to your current environment.

Our VMware Solutions Specialist will assess your estate to identify any immediate cost savings, mitigate potential risks, and provide advice about licensing options available for future updates or changes to your data centre or end user compute.

If there isn’t an immediate opportunity to help you save money on your VMware estate, we will support you to consolidate your renewals and potential accounts into one contract to make managing it easier moving forward.

VMware licensing changes

Following Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware, there are several changes to VMware’s licensing setup that you must be aware of.

Broadcom and VMware have discontinued its perpetual licensing and support renewals and is transitioning all customers’ existing and future requirements onto new, easy to manage subscription-based licensing agreements. The new subscriptions have been split into four main offerings:

  • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
  • vSphere Foundation
  • vSphere Standard
  • vSphere Essentials Plus

As these changes will have implications on both current and future licences, it’s important to map out what the transition means for you and to help you understand and manage the changes.
